The money phone has seemingly been around since the beginning of time, but even in a world full of obscenely expensive jewelry, extravagant whips and lush mansions, it hasn't shown any signs of going away soon. It's the most basic flex imaginable, but it's so ubiquitous it feels like a rite of passage for rising rap stars.

If you just dig deep enough into your favorite rapper's Instagram page, you'll probably find a picture of them holding a sizable wad of cash against their ear, imitating someone actually being on the phone. In the months following the release of "Panda," Desiigner posted his own money phone pic onto his Instagram, in a move we'd like to think as a signifier of his jump to stardom (you know, instead of his rise up Billboard's Hot 100).

A week or so after being released from jail, Kodak Black brought out his money phone for a pic with Yo Gotti. A little over a year after she dropped "Try Me," Dej Loaf actually staged a fake money phone conversation and posted it onto her Instagram. Mac Miller just went with the typical money phone selfie, which is always a solid post. The list goes on and on.

Today, we take a look at one of hip-hop's longest standing flexes by putting together a list of rappers who've used the money phone. Peep our list for yourself below. You'll definitely see more than a few familiar names.
