Back in May, Jay-Z and Raekwon were spotted in the studio working on something together, which got a lot of fans excited. The Chef is opening up about the session with Montreality.

Raekwon shared details on his guest appearance on Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail. Aside from talking about the usual topics in the studio, Rae stated they talked about real life things that helped motivate each other. He continued to say their collaboration was long overdue.

“Definitely his peoples had reached out to me and said that he wanted to connect with me on a track,” he said. “My thing was it’s about time. We both never had an opportunity to really do that before, so I knew in my heart it was time to make that kind of move happen…He embraced me. He gave me nothing but love. We laughed. We talked. We talked about real shit. We talked about parenthood. We talked about life.”
