While most of the hip-hop world has chimed in with their memories of Phife Dawg and prayers for the late rapper's family, his longtime rapping counterpart and friend Q-Tip has remained silent. On his Beats 1 Radio show, "Abstract Radio," Tip spoke with his hands with a mix featuring audio from live A Tribe Called Quest performances and rare and unreleased remixes, but left the spoken tributes to his late friend for the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Andre 3000 and Chuck D.

Yesterday (April 3), Tip opened up a bit on Twitter about Phife's passing and how much he is hurting. "I miss my lil brotha so much right now...He is my hero," he tweeted. "I've never seen such a fighter. I'm sure u have been through this as well but know that in death there is signs and gifts abound."

"He left me with the gift of unconditional love and brotherhood. That will NEVER be lost with me...Ever," he continued. "I take comfort in knowing that divine order is certain...I take pride in having the blessing knowing and having Malik in my life."

"I will be praying for us all as we move through life's highway that we all will continue to fight for love and joy. I love u Malik."

In the 2011 documentary Beats, Rhymes and Life, Phife and Tip behind the scenes footage showed the two frequently at odds during their Rock the Bells tour run. Hopefully they were able to settle their differences before the Five Foot Assassin's tragic passing.
