proof1.jpgMario Etheridge, the club bouncer who fatally shot Detroit rapper Proof, was convicted on weapons charges related to the incident earlier today. According to The Detroit Free Press, it took a jury five hours to return a guilty verdict against Etheridge for the charges of discharging a firearm in a building and carrying a concealed weapon. Etheridge fired the shots that killed Proof after the rapper fatally shot the bouncer's cousin, Keith Bender. Wayne County assistant prosecutor Elizabeth Walker was quoted as saying, "There was too much testosterone in the club and he added another cupful. You're not going to make a situation better by bringing a gun into it." Etheridge’s sentencing is schedules for October 17th. He faces up to nine years in prison.
