Post Malone’s “Congratulations” Goes Diamond
"Congratulations" are in order for Post Malone because the artist is about to receive a diamond plaque.
On Oct. 8, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) confirmed that the 24-year-old's single "Congratulations" featuring Quavo has been certified diamond. The 2016 single, which is featured on Post's debut studio album, Stoney, has moved more than 10 million units since it was released two years ago. The track, which was produced by Metro Boomin, Frank Dukes and Louis Bell, spent peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On the song's hook, Posty recognizes his own success and people's reaction to his fame. "Now they always say, 'Congratulations'/Worked so hard, forgot how to vacation/They ain't never had the dedication/People hatin', say we changed and look we made it/Yeah, we made it," he delivers.
"Congratulations" also came with a feature from Migos member, Quavo who delivered a verse that speaks to his rise to the top and the patience it took to get there. "Now I can scream that we made it (We made it!)/Now everywhere, everywhere I go, they say 'gratulation (Ooh)/Young nigga, young nigga, graduation (Yeah)/I pick up the rock and I ball, baby (Ball)/I'm looking for someone to call, baby (Brr)," Quavo raps on the song.
Post Malone is among performers like Drake, Tupac, T.I., Juciy J, and OutKast who have received diamond placards during the span of their careers.
Most recently in September of 2019, Posty delivered Hollywood's Bleeding, a 17-track album with singles like 'Wow," "Sunflower," "Take What You Want" and "Circles." He recently went on tour to promote the LP, where he was flashed by a female concert-goer resulting in a flood of memes that took over the internet.
