Earlier this week, sources close to the sequel of the 2001 cult classic How High shared a devastating update with hopeful fans: Redman and Method Man have not been cast to appear in the follow-up film. Now, a petition has been created to get the rappers in the reboot.

The petition, which you can sign here and is aptly titled “Get Method Man and Redman in ‘How High 2,’" aims to do exactly that, referring to the film in its current state as a “travesty and an injustice.” Fans are urged to sign the petition, which has no visible creation date, as a gesture of support to cast the veteran rappers, with over 2,860 signatures collected so far. The goal for signatures is 3,000.

As fans can attest, the pair—who brilliantly portrayed two best friends, Silas and Jamal, in the original comedic stoner flick—brought the storyline to life, making it an utter disappointment that the sequel is slated to continue without their involvement. Method Man and Redman also remain real-life marijuana enthusiasts, and are business partners in the BlazeNow weed locator app.

According to TMZ’s report, How High 2 is said to be “fundamentally different from the OG version,” perhaps due to being made for television, instead of intended the big screens like the original. Although, as of now, it won't star Method Man and Redman, former XXL Freshman Lil Yachty has confirmed he's been cast in the film. Rumors are also flying that Lil Baby and DC Young Fly will be involved too.

At the time of this report, neither Redman nor Method Man have yet to comment on the matter.
