Omelly May Have Been Shot in New Jersey

Rumor has it Meek Mill's cousin and Dreamchasers affiliate Omelly was shot in North Camden, N.J. on Monday (Sept. 4). The folks at The Shade Room posted about the rumor yesterday.

"#TSRTakeAMoment: We are receiving reports that #DreamChasers rapper #Omelly was shot today in North Camden, NJ and that he was taken to #CopperUniversityHealthCare. We will keep you updated on this story," the site posted on their official Instagram page without offering any more information.

Details surrounding Omelly's alleged shooting are less than scarce at this point, but if this actually happened, we're sure we'll get more information in the near future. Meek has yet to comment on the matter, but Omelly posted a pic to IG this morning saying he's fine and thanking everyone for their support. "Took it & smiled special thanks to everyone for the support," he wrote.

For Dreamchasers, this would be an unfortunate end to what's been a great summer. Meek's coming off dropping his acclaimed Wins & Losses album, and this past weekend, JAY-Z, who signed Meek to his Roc Nation management organization, brought out the Philadelphia rapper during his set at the 2017 Made in America Festival.

Last year around this time, Meek's other cousin was fatally shot in Philly.

XXL has reached out to Meek Mill and Atlantic Records for comments on Omelly's alleged shooting.
