At the tail end of Last month 2011 XXL Freshman Big K.R.I.T. dropped his new mixtape, Return of 4Eva, the critically acclaimed follow up to 2010’s K.R.I.T. Wuz Here. Among the stand out tracks was the star-studded remix to KWH’s “Country Shit” which featured stellar cameos from Bun B and Ludacris. XXLMag.com recently had the opportunity to chop it up with Luda about how he ended up on the track and his thoughts on the up-and-coming Mississippi talent.

According to the DTP leader, Krizzle was on his radar even before he jumped on the track. “I’m glad to be apart of that record because I was a fan of it since before I even met him,” he said. “I loved it.”

Yet, he says, it was the fact that they share the same label that helped the collaboration to finally happen. “We’re both signed to Def Jam and we’re just real cool partners,” ’Cris said. “We had a couple sessions where we sat down and we vibed, we talked about hip-hop, we talked about everything, we listened to beats.”

With a new album, Ludaversal, currently in the beginning stages, fans will have to wait til the fall to find out if there’s another K.R.I.T. collabo. Return of 4Eva is available for free download here. —Elan Mancini with reporting by Amber Mckynzie
