Today marks the 20th anniversary of the release of The Notorious B.I.G.'s solo debut, Ready To Die. Widely considered one of the best hip-hop albums, period, the LP remains a certified classic. But Big's magnum opus could have turned out differently.

In memory of the critically acclaimed album, we pull out, Ready To Die: The OG Edition. Originally released in 2008, the OG version includes a number of differences from the final product, including “Come On” with Lord Finesse and Sadat X, “Whatchu Want,” produced by Easy Mo Bee, the fist edit of “Machine Gun Funk,” produced by DJ Premier as well as extra verses and versions of songs with uncleared samples that were eventually cut.

Peep the project, below.
