While 2006 was filled with leaked material from Lil Wayne's upcoming album, the New Orleans rapper recently revealed to MTV that he's serious about getting Tha Carter III in stores soon. "The Carter III is coming in 2008. I don't want to give no months, no date," Weezy told MTV. The first single, called "Showtime," was produced by Young Money affiliate producer Diesel and features Wayne's new artist, Chanell. He plans to shoot a performance-based video for the clip with either Gil Green or Benny Boom playing director. A remix with Lil Boosie and Brisco has also already been recorded.

While the album could very well include production from Timbaland, Kanye West, David Banner, The Diplomats' Jay Bezel, T-Mix, Mannie Fresh, Cool & Dre, Just Blaze and Wayne himself, Weezy admits, "I don't know what songs [the record company] picked. I just know the intros and the single."

In related news, Wayne also revealed to MTV that he is currently writing for Dr. Dre.
