This wasn't James Harden's week. Over the NBA offseason, the Houston Rockets guard has been the subject of whispers about a possible relationship with the reality star Khloe Kardashian; as recently as a week and a half ago, he was popping up in short videos through her personal mobile phone app, dancing in car seats and wearing soccer jerseys and generally looking happy to be alive. But when former Lakers and Clippers star Lamar Odom was rushed to a Nevada hospital after collapsing in a brothel, Khloe rushed to his side. (Kardashian and Odom married in 2009 and separated four years later, and have now reportedly reconciled, putting the brakes on what had been a near-finalized divorce.) But the heartbreak of a broken relationship is nothing compared to what's about to happen to him.

Yesterday (Oct. 21), Harden posted the above photo on Instagram. On the surface, the caption is true--the NBA season starts in a week. But the ballplayer can be seen doing the cooking dance that was popularized by Lil B, the same rapper who might have spelled the end of the Rockets' playoff run this spring. (B called out Harden for failing to pay homage; Harden claimed he had never heard of B; the Based God Curse was put in effect; it was discovered Harden had tweeted about B starting years ago; with B in attendance, the Golden State Warriors dismantled the Rockets in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, Harden finishing with 14 points and 12 turnovers.) According to TMZ, B took note of this new offense and has decided to re-curse Harden. The Rockets play Golden State for the first time this year on Dec. 31 in Houston. Watch Lil B chat with XXL Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Satten below:
