Kodie Shane and Trippie Redd are the latest rappers to pay homage to anime. Their new video for "Love & Drugz II," released on Wednesday (Aug. 1), casts the collaborators as animated crime partners in near-future Tokyo aiming to assassinate an android gang leader.

The clips comes from director Child and co-director Jered Harrison of AMPM, the animation studio behind Lil Uzi Vert's "XO Tour Lif3" lyric video. Much like the track's brooding slow pace, the visual takes its time, with long pans and close-ups that lend the duo's bounty mission a chilling tension.

Over the beat from Jacob Reske and Oz, Kodie and Trippie wail in their upper registers about salvaging love that feels both lonely and dangerous.

"They want my soul/Yes, yes, I know/It's just a test and I know/Murder she wrote, I wrote it too/I almost lied under oath/You say you hate me, I quote/I love this girl, yes, I know," Shane sings.

The track serves as a sequel to the pair's 2016 collab "Love & Drugz." It's unclear whether this version will appear on an upcoming Kodie Shane project, but she's expected to release an album on Epic Records later this year.

Trippie, for his part, announced this week that his own debut album Life's a Trip will drop on Aug. 10. The 2018 XXL Freshman shared a music video for his new song "Together/Bigger Than Satan" on Sunday (July 29).
