Though King Los very publicly left Bad Boy, he is still staking his appeal on merging verbose, nose-to-the-grindstone lyricism with genuine star quality. The new video for "War," which features Marsha Ambrosius on the hook and Los on the porch, conspiring with a friend, is from the cinematic school of rap clips, building tension and hinting at impending peril. The song is produced by Da Internz, who struck gold last year with Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda." The Chicago duo actually has a proclivity for a certain part of the anatomy having crafted "Dance (A$$)" for Big Sean back in 2011. More recently, they've worked with promising up-and-comers from their hometown, such as Lil Herb, for whom they produced the Lil Reese-assisted "On My Soul" from last year's stellar Welcome to Fazoland.
