Joey Bada$$ is back with another new track, and this time it's in memory of the late, great Biggie Smalls, who passed 19 years ago today (March 9). It's called "Brooklyn's Own," it's produced by Statik Selektah, and you can hear it above.

Joey's been in the news a lot lately for all types of different reasons. He got into a spat with Troy Ave after sending a stray shot the BK rapper's way on "Ready" only to get a response about the death of his deceased friend Capital Steez. Joey fired back on Twitter by bringing up Troy's old tweets dissing Nas for being a "weirdo" with "no swag." Soon after that, it was announced that Joey would be a part of the popular new TV show Mr. Robot.

He was also up at Hot 97 freestyling with his Pro Era boys Kirk Knight and Nyck Caution for a full 20 minutes a couple weeks ago and is featured on Denzel Curry's new album Imperial, which just dropped today (March 9).

Joey's been very vocal about supporting his fellow Pro Era spitters, especially Kirk Knight. When asked whether he'd be dropping any new music during a 2015 interview, Joey said, "I think I'm going to be releasing things but I feel like Joey Bada$$ is and that's pretty much established. What I drop in the future, I'm going to really take my time with it. We're really shifting into Kirk [Knight] season so that's where the light is going to be at and everything. I really want everybody go get their window just like I did."
