J. Cole’s ‘KOD’ Album Reaches Platinum Status With No Features

J. Cole was very productive in 2018 and his hard work paid off. The North Carolina MC’s latest album, KOD, has officially reached platinum status with no features. That means yet another W for Cole and more insurance that the "platinum with no features" joke will never die.

Released back in April, KOD was certified for one million in U.S. sales by the Recording Industry Association of America on Dec. 5. The album was initially certified gold on May 14.

The project was lauded for Cole’s lyricism and addressing topical issues such as drug addiction and the state of today’s hip-hop culture (the brilliant song “1985”). KOD also broke streaming records on both Spotify and Apple Music with over one billion streams combined.

In addition to the album, Cole has made several guest appearances on other rapper's songs. The 33-year-old rhymer made a cameo on his Dreamville artist J.I.D's track "Off Deez" as well as on Anderson .Paak's song "Trippy."

Meanwhile, Rich The Kid recently teased that J. Cole might appear on his second album The World Is Your 2, due out in January.

The "Plug Walk" rapper posed a question on Twitter of who should appear on his forthcoming LP and one fan suggested Travis Scott, to which he replied, "that would be sick." Another person added that Rich should work with J. Cole and Drake. Surprisingly, Rich confirmed that Cole is sending a verse his way.
