hieroglyphics.jpgOakland, California based Hiero Imperium has announced the formation of their new Triple i League “farm system” for upcoming MC’s. Conceived as a music industry version of the minor league teams used by Major League Baseball franchises to groom young talent, the Triple i League will operate on a similar principle. Candidates for the program must undergo “a regimen of trials and exercises” at the Hiero compound in East Oakland before being accepted to the League. Once they make the grade, aspiring rappers will be groomed on the business aspects of the industry in order to prepare them for career independence and help them avoid the common pitfalls a new artist faces. Bay Area rapper Knobody is the first artist to be accepted into the program, and his debut album Tha Clean Up will be the first release through the Triple i League. Hiero Imperium is an independent collective made up of industry vets such as Del the Funky Homosapien, Souls of Mischief and Casual.
