Today, June 11, marks the birthday of New York rapper MF Grimm, who now turns 48.

Born and raised in New York City, MF Grimm first broke into the entertainment industry at just five years old, securing a role on Sesame Street with the help of his neighbor Morgan Freeman.

In the late 1980s Grimm then made a name for himself in the hip-hop industry touring with MC Lyte and even ghostwriting on Dr. Dre's classic LP, The Chronic. Later facing years of tribulation after surviving an attempted murder that left him paralyzed and serving time in prison, Grimm continued to serve up material linking MF Doom and underground producer Drasar Monumental. Fast forward to 2015 and Grimm unloaded his latest release, MF Love Songs. Salute to a truly dynamic hip-hop talent.

Happy Birthday, MF Grimm!
