G-Eazy Trends Because People Hate His NFL Halftime Performance So Much
G-Eazy's set for the NFL's Genesis Halftime Show wasn't too well-received by a lot of fans.
During Monday Night Football (Sept. 9), Gerald appeared during halftime for both the Oakland Raiders versus the Denver Broncos and the Houston Texans versus the New Orleans Saints games to perform a pair of his most popular songs. The California rapper stood on top of a Hyundai Genesis as he kicked off his performance with "West Coast" then finished off with a clean rendition of "No Limit."
It didn't take long for the Internet to deliver their verdict on the performance, which went down weeks after the announcement of Jay-Z's partnership with the NFL. While some fans gave him props, others offered their own criticism about the pre-recorded set.
"It’s not a performance, one Twitter user said. "It’s a music video I honestly thought it was a Hyundai commercial tf lmao," tweeted another user.
G-Eazy's performance comes weeks after Jay-Z, Roc Nation and the NFL entered a partnership that puts Roc Nation in charge of live music entertainment during the NFL season. Since then, both Hov and the label have been the receiving end of some backlash especially after they announced Meghan Trainor as one of their new Inspire Change artists along with Rapsody and Meek Mill.
