ORIGINAL STORY:

After being diagnosed with kidney failure several years ago, Freeway is finally receiving the operation he's been praying for.

According to an Instagram story Freeway posted himself yesterday (Feb. 4), Free has found a healthy kidney donor and has been admitted a hospital in Baltimore, Md. to undergo a kidney transplant. Earlier this morning (Feb. 5), Freeway hit up his Instagram to thank his 357K followers for their support before he headed to the operating room.

"I’m going under now! Thanks for all the Love & support! Pray for me!!" Freeway said in his caption for the post.

Back in January, Freeway told his fanbase that he was one step closer to a new kidney when he uploaded a post of him with the surgeon who will perform the transplant. He was confident about the process last month, and continues to be optimistic today.

In his Instagram story yesterday, Freeway documented his arrival to the hospital and continued to ask for prayers from fans. Afterwards, he went live on Instagram and offered comical commentary as nurses prepped him for surgery.

Freeway's surgery comes several months after he dropped his Think Free album, which was a follow-up to his 2016 effort Free Will. For the project, the bearded wordsmith delivered new songs with guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, Jadakiss, BJ The Chicago Kid, Fat Joe, Faith Evans and more.

Congratulations to Freeway for finding a healthy donor. Watch the former State Property rapper address his fans before he undergoes his kidney transplant below.
