Drake created an international hit with "Started From The Bottom" from his last album,  and if some die-hard fans have it their way, it will also be the national anthem. An online petition has been started to make the Young Money rapper's single the new national anthem of Canada.

"On February 2nd, 2013, my life and the lives of others changed forever," the petition created by user Jazz Cartier reads. "Canadian musician, Aubrey Graham better known to the world as Drake released the monumental, "Started From The Bottom." This wasn't just any song, this was an emotion that can never be duplicated. Tears gently rolled down my face during the first seven seconds of the song and I knew this was going to be something special. Canada aside, the world has never been the same since. "Started From The Bottom", is the modern day equivalent to Michael Jacksons, "Thriller". Others may disagree, but this is my petition and whatever I say goes. Drake motivated a nation, and gave life to a city that needed its hero."

"As proud Canadian, Drake should be nationally recognized for such a inspirational song. Canada as a country is shaping into its own, slowly but surely. Artists such as Bryan Adams, Celine Dione, Alanis Morissette, Shania Twain, and Michael Buble have done so much for us over the years. It is safe to say that, Canada's first Hip Hop superstar, Drake has reached that caliber."

The current anthem "O Canada", written in 1880, officially became the theme song of the Great White North in 1980. At last count the petition had 365 of a desired 1000 supporters.
