Childish Gambino's viral hit "This Is America" is taking on a whole new meaning with the help of Nigerian rapper Falz.

Early last week, on May 28, Falz (real name Folarin Falana) generated a massive buzz online after releasing his own rendition of Gambino's latest effort titled "This Is Nigeria." Similarly to Gambino's original body of work, Falz tackles societal ills that are plaguing his beloved country throughout various scenes in the video.

The politically-charged cover even caught the attention of music mogul Diddy, who propelled the video to worldwide recognition after sharing it on his Instagram page.

Falz's spin on the buzzy single comes fresh on the heels of "This Is America" being certified platinum, after moving over 1 million units.

Additionally, the song has also sold over 2.6 million track equivalents worldwide. Along with its certification, the track continues to sit in the top three of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, holding the No. 2 spot after being dethroned by Drake's "Nice for What."

Not to mention, the viral success of "This Is America" has lent itself to a surge in Childish's previous albums. Last month, the Atlanta star's discography moved an extra 11,000 copies. Awaken My Love! moved back into the Billboard 200 chart, reaching No. 45, while Because the Internet and Camp reached No. 61 and No. 197, respectively.
