Donnis is back to where he started his career—Fool’s Gold Records.

The former XXL Freshman signed with Fool’s Gold Records after kick-starting his career a few years back with his single, “Gone.”

On Tuesday (June 19), XXLMag.com talked to the Atlanta MC about signing with Fool’s Gold, his history with the imprint and “Hello Kitty,” the new single off his upcoming EP, Break Hundreds and Hearts.

“The Fool’s Gold shit goes way back,” Donnis told XXLMag.com. “Me and Fool’s Gold always had a super dope relationship. When I was in the military, A-Trak would reach out to me on MySpace. It was only right for me to go back and get it in with the family.”

Fool’s Gold is also the label home to a current XXL Freshman in Detroit MC, Danny Brown.

“Danny’s the homie…anytime I met him, man, he was extra thorough,” Donnis commented.

Tuesday also seen Donnis drop the video to his single, “Hello Kitty,” which features buxom eye candy model, Tiffany Luu.

“I wish we could have been shooting it longer,” Donnis said about the clip. “Tiffany Luu was on set.

“Me and my girlfriend were about to break up and shit,” he added, joking.

As for what fans can expect for Break Hundreds and Hearts?

"It’s really bass heavy and we wanted to go back and give people what they really like in music,” he added. “I went back to listen to Luke, 2 Live Crew and listened to the drums and how the bass was different. It’s bass heavy with a different sound.”

Break Hundreds and Hearts is scheduled for a July release, although the exact release date hasn’t been ironed out yet.—Mark Lelinwalla
