Danny Brown’s forthcoming album has been a long time coming for fans who have been waiting three years for the follow-up to 2013’s Old. But the Fool's Gold MC, who started speaking on the making of this album back in 2014, appears to be done with his third masterpiece.

According Nick Catchdubs, who runs Danny's label Fool's Gold with A-Trak, Brown's album is done.“Danny is in the captain’s chair with his music. He’s recorded his album,” Catchdubs told Fact Mag.

Danny took a break from the recording process back in April 2015. "Almost I took a break from it cause I'm so ahead of schedule with it knowing it ain't coming out no time soon," he announced via Twitter. During that time he also went to work on a children's book to empower young black girls. It was influenced by his own 13-year-old daughter.

“Like everything he’s done in life, Danny’s gone a different route," Catchdubs said. "He’s gone in a direction that suits him. I think that when he feels like it’s time to unleash this shit, people are gonna be excited. That’s the best place you can be in…You need to be true to yourself and you need to say, this is my voice, this is the way I want to get my shit out there, you’re operating on your own timeline. I find that very, very respectable.”

Danny has been mum about the album and it's current status. No release date has been announced but this summer he's returning to his second home, on festival stages. He's set to perform at Lollapalooza in July so we just might see something new this summer.
