DaBaby Addresses Violent Incidents With Fans, Won’t Stop Interacting Despite Being Attacked
DaBaby doesn't lose sleep over the wild antics that happen between him and his fans.
In an interview Billboard published Thursday (Oct. 17), the 2019 XXL Freshman reveals that he loves his fans no matter what goes down at his shows and says he wants to do right by them. The North Carolina rapper also says that he knows how to handle fans when things get out of hand.
"I seen plenty of artists fuck up every time fans walk by and give them too much attention," DaBaby told Billboard. "I don’t feed into that. It’s going back to knowing how to move in the streets. If you catch a charge, you still gotta go to court. I ain’t tripping, we gon’ keep it rocking until we go to court. You can’t sit around all day like, 'Man, I’m facing this.' You pay the lawyer and trust that it’s gonna work out at the end. I just keep going to work and through time, people might see, 'All right, that might’ve been bullshit.' I turn piss into lemonade and put it in a cup with some ice and make muthafuckas drink it."
Over the past year, we've seen DaBaby do the most for his fans, whether it's been signing autographs in an airport to buying cookie boxes from kids and giving it right back to them.
Yet, the DaBaby and his security have also gotten into violent altercations with a few wild fans. One instance happened when DaBaby appeared to throw a punch at a fan for grabbing his chain during a performance. Another situation went down when one of his security guards had to fight off a fan who ran on stage during the rapper's set. DaBaby says it's all apart of the risk he takes as an artist.
"People are unpredictable at the end of the day," DaBaby continues. "It’s just the risk that I take and the sacrifice that I make: Putting myself, my career, my family’s peace of mind on the line just to do right by my fans. It ain’t no gray area: You’re either with that and willing to go out of your way to make people who contribute to your dreams coming true happy or you aren’t. I understand the artists who aren’t: No one wants people suing them and shit."
