2018 is already turning out to be a major year for Childish Gambino, who will stay just as busy as last year. The Because the Internet rapper, also known as actor Donald Glover, has just signed a new record deal with RCA Records in partnership with Los Angeles-based creative agency Wolf + Rothstein.

Gambino will be releasing new music sometime this year under the new partnership, but there's no word on if we can expect another full album, or when the new tunes will come our way. CEO of RCA Records Peter Edge shares his excitement of signing the "Redbone" musician in a statement, calling him one of the "most talented" entertainers of this era.

“Donald is undoubtedly one of the most talented, multi-faceted, young entertainers of this era,” Edge states. “We are excited to join forces with him and Wolf + Rothstein to usher in the next phase of Childish Gambino’s musical career.”

Childish Gambino describes the new deal as a "necessary change of pace."

Previously the rapper, who's also a lauded singer, was signed to Glassnote Records, a label known for its indie rock roster.

The new record deal with RCA comes after Gambino received multiple Grammy nominations for his 2017 Awaken, My Love! album. He'll be performing at the awards show this Sunday.

Things are definitely going to be busy for him in the beginning half of 2018, as he is also gearing up for the premiere of Atlanta season two in March.

Congratulations to Childish Gambino on the new deal.
