Well, this is a rigamarole. According to CBS New York, the rapper and actor was arrested last night (August 5) for getting into a fight at the Steel Gym at 143 W. 23rd St. in Manhattan. Apparently, the muscle-bound rapper got into a tiff with a fellow gym-goer (it's not clear over what) and launched a case of Lean Body Protein drinks at the guy. Busta was charged with assault; at press time, the status of the victim was unknown. The rapper took to Instagram to assure fans all was well once he left jail:

Busta was previously arrested and charged with assault exactly nine years ago, also in New York. An August 2006 bit of road rage boiled over, with the When Disaster Strikes star attacking a man who spit on his car after a music festival. That incident resurfaced a year later, when Busta's former driver accused him assault. According to the driver, things escalated after he confronted his former employer about back pay he felt he was owed. In March of 2008, Busta was sentenced to three years' probation.

Musically, the legendary New Yorker has become something of a specialist in recent years. Busta is one of the go-to MCs for rappers and producers who need a quick, highly technical verse; of late, he's appeared on songs with Fashawn, Raekwon and M.O.P. His last album, 2012's Year of the Dragon, was notable for hosting an unusually wide-ranging list of guests, from Cam'ron and Maino to Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Trey Songz and Gucci Mane. Busta has said that he's in the studio working on a sequel to 1998's ELE (Extinction Level Event): The Final World Front.
