Booking Agency Drops $630,000 Lawsuit Against DMX

The adage of every dog has his day, doesn’t currently apply to DMX.

According to TMZ, the rapper caught a huge break over the weekend when a $630,000 lawsuit against the Dog was dismissed. In March, the celebrity news site reported that the booking agency, Heavy Rotation, sued X in March for $630,000, claiming it cemented a year-long 2011 comeback tour with the rapper only for him to torpedo the entire planned trek.

But over the weekend, Heavy Rotation seemed to reverse its tune, voluntarily dismissing the lawsuit. DMX’s manager, Jason Fowler, told TMZ that X’s camp is very happy that the lawsuit was dismissed.

Although that tour didn’t see fruition, X has been performing on his official comeback trek in the form of his Undisputed Tour, which stretches out until July 10 in Pensacola, Florida.

In addition, DMX will be part of the official Ruff Ryders reunion show at 2012 Rock The Bells, taking place on August 18 and 19 and 25 and 26 and September 1 and 2.

X will be joined by his Double-R family, consisting of Eve, Jadakiss, Styles P, Sheek Louch and Drag-On.

The Dog is still prepping Undisputed, his upcoming album and first LP since Year of the Dog…Again in 2006.

To whet fans’ appetites, X dropped the The Weigh In EP last month.

“There’s a big fight coming up,” Dame Grease, longtime producer and collaborator of the Dog, told XXLMag.com. “X hasn’t put out an album in six years. We got to work with the fans because a lot of artists oversaturate the game, so before the fight, we got to go to the weigh in and make sure our muthafuckin’ weight is up.”—Mark Lelinwalla
