Bodega Bamz Lands Role in New Showtime Series ‘SMILF’

Bodega Bamz is now officially a rapper/actor. Recently, the Spanish Harlem native was cast in forthcoming Showtime TV series, SMILF.

Created by actress/writer/director/producer Frankie Shaw, the new series chronicles the life of Bridgette, one young single mother living in South Boston. In the show, Bamz will play the role of Carlos, the best friend of Rafi, who's the mother of Bridgette's child. The show is based on Shaw's short film of the same name, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2015.

For Bamz, who recently linked with BadLukk for his new song "Boom," this is definitely a good look, especially considering his new album P.A.P.I. is due out in the near future. Salute to him.

In other news, the rapper recently teamed up with Jadakiss, Remy Ma, Papoose, Casanova, Rapsody and more to help collect donations for Hurricane Maria relief. In the caption for the video he uploaded from the event, he made sure to air out his distaste for President Trump.

“First thing first with all disrespect fuck Donald Trump,” he captioned the clip. “With that being said, God bless my mother land. It’s a beautiful thing to see all different races, man, woman, old, young, short & tall, rich & poor all helping and working together.”
