Rapper A$AP Ferg is the first hip-hop act to star in Jimmy Choo’s brand new series, Style Diary. Showing off the brand’s fall and winter 2017 collection, the “Plain Jane” rapper sits down with the high-end brand to discuss a number of topics including his personal style, fashion influences, the A$AP Mob crew, his solo career and much more.

During Ferg's sit-down with Jimmy Choo, the Harlem rapper goes in-depth about the influence certain celebrities had on his personal style. "My style influences are David Bowie, Missy Elliott, Ludacris—during the late ‘90s & early ‘2000s—Diddy, Busta Rhymes’ music video outfits and the movie ‘Belly,’" says Ferg of the individual that helped mold his style. "I heard Kanye say he didn’t want to dress like normal people—people walking in the streets. He wanted to dress in costume. I liken myself to that, because when I get dressed, I dress as if I’m playing a role in a movie.”

Later in the interview Ferg broke down the importance of always having a fresh pair of sneakers, “New shoes have, for me, always represented being fresh. When I was in Catholic school, we had to wear uniform, so the only time I got to show my flyness was on Thursdays in gym. I would wear my new sneakers every Thursday. Sneakers have always been a staple and now they’re coming in new styles, shapes and colours are getting even better as the technology improves.”

Along with doing an entire photo shoot showcasing the latest threads from Jimmy Choo, the A$AP rapper also starred in a 2-minute behind-the-scenes, shot in New York City, where he can be seen trying other looks of the clothing collection.
