Meek Mill will be getting a high-profile visit from Reverend Al Sharpton in prison, next week.

The famed activist spoke about the upcoming trip during a recent rally with his organization, the National Action Network today (Nov. 25), in Harlem, N.Y., reports NBC. "Just because someone does something that is wrong, does not give you the right to do wrong to them," Sharpton told a gathering. "The sentence must fit the violation."

Meek, who has been sentenced to two to four years in prison for violating his probation, was recently transferred to a new prison in Chester, Pa., where he has been removed from solitary confinement and entered into general population.

Sharpton isn't the first celebrity to reach out to the Philly native. Colin Kaepernick recently hopped on the phone with the rapper and relayed a message of hope from the MMG MC. "Spoke to Meek Mill & he wanted ppl to know regardless of his unjust situation, he's in good spirits & humbled by the support the people have shown him," Kaepernick tweeted. "We'll continue to fight against the harsh sentencing practices that have affected Meek & millions of other POC for generations."

JAY-Z recently offered his thoughts on Meek's situation in an op-ed for the New York Times. "What’s happening to Meek Mill is just one example of how our criminal justice system entraps and harasses hundreds of thousands of black people every day," Jay wrote. "I saw this up close when I was growing up in Brooklyn during the 1970s and 1980s. Instead of a second chance, probation ends up being a land mine, with a random misstep bringing consequences greater than the crime. A person on probation can end up in jail over a technical violation like missing a curfew."

Meek's lawyers are trying everything they can to get the rapper out of his current situation. Most recently, they've tried to use the judge's past against her.
