Akon Asks for Legal Custody of Two Sons Born Out of Wedlock

Akon has filed paternity documents to become the legal father of two sons, born in 2008 and 2009. According to TMZ, Akon asked the Georgia Superior Court for joint legal custody of the two boys, whom he had out of wedlock, a necessary step in establishing child support payments. He’s also requested for the children to keep his last name, Thiam, and for the boys to be eligible to inherit from him.

TMZ’s sources also provided them with issued the following statement: “Akon has been a father to the boys since they were born, and this is just a necessary step to make sure he is legally recognized as such.”—XXL Staff
