Nardwuar The Human Serviette was out in full effect during the 2016 SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas and caught up with budding Toronto star Tory Lanez. As is tradition, Lanez was shocked by Nardwuar's questioning and deep knowledge of the artist's life and times. The interview dives deep into Lanez' last job at Denny's, his love for pizza and being somewhat responsible for YG, Rich Homie Quan and Jeezy's hit "My Nigga."

"When we was in the Def Jam studio in Atlanta and I was working with Sickamore, they was making 'My Nigga' and YG had a verse on it that didn't go the way of the song. I remember one day we were in the car and Sickamore told me, 'I don't know if we're going to use this record.' And I told him, 'What you need to do is tell YG to use the same kind of cadence that Rich Homie is using on the hook for the verse and that shit'll be outta here.'"

Lanez and Drake have been trading shots at each other after Drizzy rapped, "All you boys in the new Toronto want to be me a little."

In an interview with DJ Drama, Tory addressed the line and said that Drizzy may look at him as as threat. “I’m just a young kid,” said Tory. “Me personally, I don’t think I’m even hot enough to be getting dissed. But hey, at the end of the day he must look at me as a threat. The music is appealing and I don’t know why he did it, but more blessings to him.”
