The Break Presents: Lightshow
After generating a buzz from his Life Sentence 2 mixtape, the Washington D.C. MC is on course to open doors for his city. If you’ve been sleeping, check out why Lightshow is considered next up.
Standout: "Came A Long Way"
Also check out: "Let's Talk About It"
And: "Myself" featuring Big Shaad
Name: Lightshow
Age: 22
Hometown: Washington, DC
I grew up listening to: Nas, Jay Z, Jadakiss, Beanie Sigel, Eminem, 50 Cent, D12, Scarface and Slick Rick.
Most people don’t know I: Used to be an engineer. I engineered the session for Wale when he was working on "Bait" and up until 2013 I mixed and mastered mostly all my music.
My style’s been compared to: Meek Mill, but its probably most likely because of my intense delivery, I feel like I'm in my own lane.
My standout records and/or moments to date have been: I'm big on full bodies of work so I'd have to say that Life Sentence and Life Sentence 2 are my most standout projects to date. My most standout moment was freestyling backstage of a Meek show with Lil Snupe #RIP.
My goal in Hip-Hop is: To have an impact on everyone that hears my music, be remembered as one of the greatest to ever do it, open sealed doors for my city and to snatch up a few plaques and Grammys along the way.
I’m gonna be the next: Young king!
