G-Eazy's When It's Dark Out faces massive expectations after 2014's These Things Happen became one of the biggest surprises of the year when it debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. With 17 new tracks and features from Big Sean, Tory Lanez, Too $hort and Kehlani amongst others, Eazy flexed his muscle a little bit to prove that last year's breakout was no fluke.

XXL caught up with G-Eazy last winter while he was recording the project and the rapper told us of his hopes that the music will have a lasting impact. “I want people to connect and identify with the stories and hope it means something a year from now or more,” he said. “You make music within this lonely space in a room with no windows for months on end. And then you just put it out. All you can do is dig deep and pour out everything you have.” Stream the project below and judge for yourself:
