Before the 2018 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting has officially launched, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2018 XXL Freshman cover.

Smooky MarGielaa is the youngest rapper doing it out of New York City. The 15-year-old Bronx native gained national attention last summer with the release of A$AP Mob's Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2: Too Cozy, which peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. The melodic young rhymer has since released a bevy of tracks like the popular "Vlone Flex," with each of them reaching over 200,000 streams. This year, expect his debut project with a slew of big-time hip-hop features and catch him on tour currently as hit performances around the world MarGielaa Madness World Tour.
