When JT dropped The 20/20 Experience, The NY Times' Jon Caramanica reviewed the record and compared a re-emerging JT to Mayer Hawthorne and "earnest cheese ball Robin Thicke." That attack was a bit aggressive, especially because Thicke has carved out a niche for himself in the past near-decade, exploring the confines of r&b, soul and funk over the course of four interesting and diverse records (plus that Beautiful World one). A day after the release of JT's comeback album, Robin drops the video for "Blurred Lines," a groovy Pharrell-produced cut that sounds like Curtis Mayfield for the molly generation. Robin throws in some background Jackson 5 yelps, and T.I. swings through for a dependably decent verse and does the Sanford and Son dance. Watch above.
