Mozzy and YFN Lucci Have a Joint Project on the Way
Mozzy and YFN Lucci are teaming up for a joint album, and they're hungry for some dope beats.
Last night (Jan. 13), Mozzy's manager David “Dave-O” Grear, who produced several records on his Gangland Landlord album, posted a message to all musicians and beat makers on Instagram no matter what their status in the game is.
In the actual image upload, we see a message indicating that Mozzy and Lucci are linking up for a project. "Mozzy x YFN Lucci!!" he wrote before instructing his followers to send beats to Mozzy's email account.
Mozzy, who hails from Sacramento, has become well-known for his joint projects over the years. After linking up with Trae Tha Truth in 2016, Mozzy connected with Miami rapper Gunplay for their LP Dreadlocks & Headshots. Now, he's getting ready to follow up his solo album with a fresh collaborative effort with "The King" rapper.
Dave-O revealed the news a month after Mozzy delivered the visual for "Black Hearted." In the video directed by Suj, Mozzy reflects on all the events in his life that have taken a toll on his mind, body and soul. The hunt for beats for their joint LP also comes shortly after YFN Lucci dropped his ominous visual for his song "Think I Lost It." In the video, Lucci depicts his version of a mental institution with the craziest patients and the baddest doctor you've ever seen.
There's no word on when we'll get to hear the album, but according to Dave, the project is "almost done." Check out Dave-O's message about Mozzy and YFN Lucci's joint album below.
