Marvel has released more hip-hop variant covers and they're unbelievable. This time, artist Adam Hughes tackles N.W.A’s Straight Outta Compton for A-Force #1 (see above)—while Annie Wu takes Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday for Angela: Queen of Hel #1, Humberto Ramos inserts Spider-Gwen into Slick Rick’s The Great Adventures of Slick Rick and Ed Piskor pays homage to Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five’s The Message for New Avengers #1. See those covers below.

"These homage covers are a long overdue holler back for Marvel Comics and its artists to an art form that has become the backbeat to so many of our lives,” said Axel Alonso, Marvel Editor-in-Chief. “Our Hip-hop variant program is the perfect platform to introduce a few of the artists that will help shape the Marvel Universe in the very near future. The outpouring of love from Hip-Hop fans and rap luminaries for the few covers we’ve revealed so far is beyond anything we ever expected, and we can’t wait to show you what lurks beneath the covers over the coming year.” Alonso spoke to XXL earlier this year about the role of comic books in pop and hip-hop culture.

Last month Marvel released a bunch of covers paying respect to A Tribe Called Quest’s Midnight Marauders, Wu-Tang Clan’s Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers, The Notorious B.I.G.’s classic Ready to Die, Eric B. & Rakim’s 1987 debut album, Paid In Full, Tyler, The Creator’s Wolf, Roots’ Illadelph Halflife, Nas' Illmatic cove and Pete Rock and CL Smooth’s Mecca & the Soul Brother.
