Longtime Harlem MC Ma$e has come under the scrutiny of his Atlanta based congregation who claim the rapper is living a double life. Ma$e, who has long been trying to balance church and hip-hop, is now defending himself against his churchgoers. According to close sources, Betha’s plan is to continue to put out explicit music and use his street credibility in an effort to spread the word of God to the hip-hop community.

Ma$e is apparently comfortable with his current situation despite the backlash and will continue to rap and preach even if the church frowns upon him. In a bizarre twist, members of Betha’s congregation also claim that the MC’s renewed spiritual calling was motivated by the death of Michael Jackson. Ma$e allegedly believes that he could have saved Michael Jackson’s life had he had the chance to talk and counsel the music icon.—Peter Walsh
