Luh Soldier Feels Like the Hottest Out the South in New Freestyle
Birmingham, Ala. rapper Luh Soldier is here to deliver his trap gospel. “You might as well take you out a piece of paper and a pen and start jotting down notes,” declares the 20-year-old artist, who first garnered attention for the freestyles he shared via his Instagram page. “My music is like a seminar.”
Outside of schooling those in need, the Down South artist behind the projects Soldier Mentality and Out on Bond has made a promise to bring something new to the game. “It’s a swag that ain’t never been heard before,” he says when discussing his musical style. Luh Soldier offers up a sample of his sauce for XXL’s What I Do freestyle series.
“It’s reminiscing, every decision I made, I was fucked up/I put in the work, and never no nigga can ever just say that I lucked up/I feel like the hottest nigga out the South/All these pussy niggas need to put on a blouse,” spits the “What Happened” rapper.
The Cinematic Music Group artist with more than 112,000 followers on Instagram and over 5 million total streams on Spotify this year recently dropped his third full-length project, Naw FR. The project features guest appearances from the likes of NLE Choppa, G Herbo and PeeWee Longway, as well as contributions from producers such as Honorable C-Note, Yung Lan and Monteezzy. “I’m basically giving you the rundown of the everyday soldier,” says Luh Soldier, who keeps it raw throughout the 12-track project.
