Philly has a long history of producing solid spitters. The birthplace of Will Smith introduced respected MCs such as Meek Mill, Black Thought, Beanie Sigel, Eve and Cassidy, among others. Following in their footsteps is Lee Mazin. The rapper, who has toured with both Meek Mill and MC Lyte, and appeared on the Oxygen series Sisterhood of Hip Hop, has built a reputation for going hard in the booth. Offering a glimpse of what she’s lyrically working with, Lee Mazin puts on for her gritty city in a freestyle for XXL’s Flex Zone.

Warning that she’s not one to be played with, Lee kicks off her freestyle with, “Stop, don’t try your luck/’Cause lately I ain’t been giving a fuck/Don’t play dolls or Barbies, I’m way too tough/That ain’t no diss, don’t try to blow that shit up.”

Securing the bag, taking aim and coming out on top make up the remaining bars. “I came from nothing so this money is kind of new to me/Can’t name too many friends that stayed true to me/Stuck in my ways, it’s kind of hard to get through to me/These bitches skipping class, I should fine them just for truancy/Bitch, I’m on fire, so you know I can’t miss right now/Got two niggas, a couple chicks, I’m with the shits right now/The worst thing you can do is try your luck and diss right now,” Lee rhymes.

The Dream Chasers affiliate is now signed with the Ruff Ryders, the legendary label that brought us the likes of DMX and Swizz Beatz over 20 years ago. Now she's ready to take things to the next level. After dropping tracks like “Nobody,” “Walk Thru” and “Buss It Down” earlier this year, she's prepping for the next phase in her career.
