Kidd Kidd Leaves G-Unit to Find Success on His Own

After taking a long hiatus from rap these past few years, Kidd Kidd is getting a fresh start for 2018. Having already released two projects in four months, the New Orleans rapper kicked off the year with the seven-track EP, Unquestionable, before dropping his first Reallionaire compilation mixtape, highlighting the crop of new artists from his RLLNR Ent squad. Now, Kidd Kidd is looking to step up to the next level and take his Reallionaire brand to stardom.

Kidd Kidd decided to depart from G-Unit Records earlier this year, opting for the independent route. He's looking to become a boss of his own—just like his former mentor 50 Cent. “Fif is all about that,” Kidd Kidd tells XXL. “He’s all about you branding yourself and you can’t always expect the person that holds your hand to help you cross the street, you know? So right now I’m just moving how I’m moving and trying to make it happen.”

Dismissing rumors of any beef or conflicts with G-Unit prior to his departure, Kidd Kidd says he's just doing him right now and felt the need to make the move for his own career, but hopes that the fans can understand. “Once a person sees you moving on your own, they act like you can’t boss up because 50's boss," he says. "I know I'm Kidd Kidd, but I'm still a man."
