Flatbush Zombies Recreate Harlem Heat’s Infamous Wrestling Promo Aimed at Hulk Hogan
The World Wrestling Entertainment, better known to wrestling fans as the WWE, is getting ready to put on its second-biggest show of the year with SummerSlam, set to take place this Sunday (Aug. 21), at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Returning for a second time to the borough of Brooklyn, this year's SummerSlam card looks to be an epic one that should provide plenty of jaw-dropping moments and entertainment. With SummerSlam's return, XXL decided to reach out to Flatbush Zombies, who are both wrestling fanatics and Brooklyn natives, to recreate some wrestling magic in honor of WWE's upcoming PPV.
Taking things back to 1997, when Booker T cut his infamous WCW Spring Stampede promo where he used the “n-word” when referring to Hulk Hogan, XXL had Flatbush Zombies' members Erick The Architect and Zombie Juice recreate Harlem Heat's classic promo on the Hulkster. The end result turned out to be quite hilarious as Erick gets his best Booker T impersonation on while Juice plays the role of Stevie Ray.
The recreation of this classic Harlem Heat skit is just the first video of multiple wrestling promos that the guys did with XXL. Expect to see the Zombies, who dropped their debut album, 3001: A Laced Odyssey, in March, recreate more wrestling moments in the days to come before the SummerSlam extravaganza.
