Drake Confirms Death of Longtime Friend Fif

Tragedy has arrived at the doorstep of the OVO Sound family. Late Thursday night (Sept. 14), Drake used his Instagram account to confirm the sudden and unexpected death of Fif, his close friend.

"😔😔😔😢😢😢 RIP to one of our family members...our brother... I still can't even believe this morning was real. It was a honor to have shared years together and I will always keep your memory alive 😔Forever Fif," Drizzy wrote in the caption for his alarming post, which includes an image of the late Fif.

Although there have been rumors that Fif was shot and killed in Toronto, the circumstances of his death remain unknown. Fif wasn't a prominent figure in the public part of the OVO Sound movement, but Drake did mention him on his More Life cut, "No Long Talk." “Just know man like Fif, he’s a sickaz/You get tanned, he don’t miss tings," Drizzy spits on the song.

Drake hasn't said anything else regarding the death of Fif, but details will presumably surface soon. We send our condolences to Fif, Drake and the entire OVO Sound family for their loss.
