Diggy Simmons is set to make his long-awaited return to the rap game. The rapper and actor has announced that his sophomore album, Lighten Up, will arrive on Nov. 9.

The project, which is executive produced by Shawn Barron and Earlly Mac, spans eight tracks and doubles as the follow-up effort from his 2012 debut, Unexpected Arrival.

"There are many themes that I explore in the album," Diggy shared on Twitter. "The most prominent one being 'journey'. Our emotional connection to our journey, moving past trauma’s in our journey, how we learn from our journey, and the practice of championing ourselves, no matter where we are in our journey."

To celebrate his forthcoming album, the 2011 XXL Freshman released the project's lead single, “Goin” last month. The track features production by Kaytranada and samples a throwback record produced by Diggy's uncle, Russell Simmons, and Larry Smith (of Run-DMC).

In addition to his work in music, the 23-year-old also starred on the hit TV show, grownish, as well as appeared on the reality TV series Run's House along with his father, Run-DMC's Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons, and his siblings.

Although he is years removed from dropping his debut album, Diggy has been wisely planning his comeback, beginning with his August 2018 single, "It Is What It Is."
