Cyhi The Prynce Wants to Go Back to the Motherland on “Nu Africa”
CyHi The Prynce is preparing the release of his debut album No Dope on Sundays. On Thursday (Feb. 16), he delivered his new single, "Nu Africa."
On the new track CyHi raps about his desire to return to the Motherland with other African-Americans and start a "Nu Africa." Throughout the four-minute record, the Stone Mountain, Ga. artist namedrops quite a few celebrities and wonders what it would be like if they were all down for the cause.
"Imagine if all the rappers were/To get with all the athletes or activists and actors for/A conference in Zaire to meet with all the ambassadors/In the motherland, tell her we comin' back for her," CyHi raps. "America know if we leave, it'd be a massacre/Zimbabwe would be full of drug dealers and traffickers/Smokin' grass, a cut, pick all the hoes from Magic up/Tell Tabitha let a nigga Cleopatra her/So we can build a neighborhood out in Zambia/Tell Khaled to build another one in Tanzania."
CyHi goes on to name drop Jay Z, Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Obama and more. You can listen to "Nu Africa" below. In case you missed it, go back and peep his previous release, "Legend."
No Dope on Sundays is slated to drop this summer, and Kanye West executive produced the body of work. CyHi will also open up for Lil Wayne on an eight-school college tour beginning in early April. You can view those dates below.
