CupcakKe Announces Retirement, Will Take All Her Music Down
CupcakKe recently announced to the world that she is retiring and will take down all her music via an alarming social media post.
The Chicago rapper revealed the news on Instagram Live on Sunday night (Sept. 22). In the video, she is sitting in what appears to be a hotel draped in the sheets of the bed.
"So, this live will be the last video that y'all see of me," she started.
After emotionally trying to get her thoughts together, she lets the cat out of the bag.
"All my career, y'all have known me to be a nice girl, which I am," she said. "Recently, the past night, and today, I just been sporadic. It's because I wanted to get as much attention as possible to let y'all know that I will no longer be doing music. And all of my music will be coming off every platform. I decided to give up. I decided to give up. I don't want to say give up, let go music because I feel as though I'm corrupting the youth."
The Ephorize rapper gave the catalyst for her decision as seeing a 13-year-old girl dancing to one of her vulgar tracks.
"I just decided, that's it. I don't want to do music no more," she added.
She also admitted to having a gambling addiction and losing $700,000 in a casino in September 2018. CakKe has also emptied her Instagram and Twitter pages. It's clear the MC is in a bad place right now.
CapcakKe has had issues dealing with depression in the past. In January, she was hospitalized after sending out a suicidal tweet. She later commented on the situation saying, "I’ve been fighting with depression for the longest ..sorry that I did it public last night but I’m ok. I went to the hospital & im finally getting the help that I need to get through , be happy , & deliver great music . thanks for all the prayers but please don’t worry bout me."
