Chance The Rapper, Wale and Others Attend President Obama’s Farewell Party

President Barack Obama is on his way out of The White House, making way for president-elect Donald Trump. Barry went out in style Friday night (Jan. 6), hosting a farewell party at the crib that was attended by the likes of Chance The Rapper, Wale, Usher, Solange, Kelly Rowland and others.

Apparently, the party didn't stop until the wee hours. Chano posted a video to social media after all the fun was over and described the turn up. "They wouldn't let us bring cameras in the shit," he said. "Just know, it was historic. It was black. It was beautiful. There was dancing. There was laughing. There was loving. There was hugs."

This isn't Chance or Wale's first time kicking it at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Back in 2015, Ralph visited Obama's pad to attend a Michelle Obama-led initiative to help college bound teens.

Last January, the D.C. MC had the honor of performing at Obama's final State of the Union Address. Wale performed his 2009 debut single “Chillin'” and the 2013 hit “LoveHate Thing,” before the POTUS took the stage.

Six months ago, a group of rappers including Wale, Chance The Rapper, J. Cole, Common, Ludacris, Wale, Pusha T, Busta Rhymes, DJ Khaled and Timbaland were among the artists who got to speak with President Obama at The White House to discuss criminal justice reform in conjunction with the My Brother’s Keeper initiative.

Obama will officially drop the mic on Jan. 20, when Trump is inaugurated into office. His farewell speech will take place in his hometown of Chicago on Jan. 10.
