Los Angeles-based indie label Brainfeeder announced a showcase today (March 14) as a means to flex their camp's biggest stars at one of LA's most iconic venues. Brainfeeder will take over the Hollywood Bowl on Sept. 17 for a label showcase. Performances include Flying Lotus' full roster as well as funk legend George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic for good measure. The future funk aficionados are going to love this one.

As far as indie labels go, Brainfeeder is leading the charge of trippy, unorthodox and psychedelic syntax in hip-hop. First established in 2008 by FlyLo, Brainfeeder is home to Thundercat, Azizi Gibson, Shabazz Palaces, Ras G, The Underachievers and more. Flying Lotus himself has had a huge impact on hip-hop as of late, lending his experimental talents to Kendrick Lamar's 2015 album To Pimp A Butterfly. Lotus produced "Wesley's Theory," the first track on K. Dot's sophomore LP. With TPAB celebrating its one-year anniversary this month, it wouldn't be too hard to imagine Kendrick making a surprise appearance at the Bowl for Brainfeeder. And with all members of the p-funk supergroup WOKE (FlyLo, Thunder Cat, Shabazz and Clinton) accounted for on the lineup, there's really no telling the level of epic live jam sessions funk and hip-hop fans are in for. But at least they have six months to brainstorm.

Tickets for "Brainfeeder at the Hollywood Bowl" are available at the venue's box office starting May 1.
