The 2017 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer and now the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting is happening now, so each of the potential Freshman are letting you know why they should appear on the 2017 XXL Freshman cover.

Mass Appeal Records artist Boldy James looks to make 2017 his biggest year ever. This year alone, he dropped The Art of Rock Climbing EP, followed by his mixtape, House of Blues. The 34-year-old rapper by way of Detroit has already outworked many of his hip-hop peers this year. Best known for his 2013 collaborative album, My 1st Chemistry Set, with coveted hip-hop producer The Alchemist, Boldy has released a number of projects under the Mass Appeal imprint since then. With tour dates ahead, Boldy James hopes to reconnect with his fan base from all over the States, as he aspires to be the next Detroit artist on XXL's coveted Freshmen cover.
